The Best News

Luke 2.10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.

Acts 2.36 "Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."

Phil Lacefield suggested a simple way to share the good news: Look in the second chapters of both books written by Luke. We have an angel proclaiming the good news in Luke 2 and the apostles more fully preaching the gospel in Acts 2. If we can recall Luke 2 and Acts 2, we can share the gospel!

The good news is that God sent His Son for us. The better news is that Jesus was victorious over Satan and the grave and is now Lord and Christ. The best news is that we can enjoy salvation and hope because of what Christ has done for us.

Acts 2.37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

38 Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-for all whom the Lord our God will call."

Dear Father, we are grateful that Christ has come for us, delivered us from fear and enabled us to share a wonderful hope. Help us to be joyous and effective as we share the best news. Help those who are hurting. We ask this through Jesus, the Gift. Amen.

1 John 5.14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Only God can know HOW our prayers WORK but we believe HE answers. Please write me to add names to the prayer list and to report changes in status.

Let us be thankful and prayerful!

Love
Brad Forgy
