Theology

John 5.24 "I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.

25 I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live.

26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself.

27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.

28 "Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice

29 and come out-those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.

The preacher declared that theology means "thinking about God." He then directed the hearers to think about God and said, "You are now a theologian."

This example shows how little the word "theology" means. Good theology is thinking about God that moves one toward hearing Christ, believing Christ and obeying Christ. This is the performance of good that Jesus said would enable one to rise and live. If our thinking about God produces anything less, it will help us no more than thinking about dirt will help us!

Dear Father, we are so grateful for the simple, profound truths spoken by Jesus. We want to be always ready to hear, believe and obey Him. Use us as instruments for doing good. Help those who are hurting. We ask this in the name of Christ, the Risen One. Amen

1 John 5.14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Only God can know HOW our prayers WORK but we believe HE answers. Please write me to add names to the prayer list and to report changes in status.

Let us be thankful and prayerful!

Love
Brad Forgy
