Pleased!

Exodus 33.12 Moses said to the LORD, "You have been telling me, 'Lead these  people,' but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have  said, 'I know you by name and you have found favor with me.'

13 If you are  pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find  favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people."

14 The LORD replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you  rest."

15 Then Moses said to him, "If your Presence does not go with us, do not send  us up from here.

16 How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and  with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and  your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?"

17 And the LORD said to Moses, "I will do the very thing you have asked,  because I am pleased with you and I know you by name."

God reassured Moses that He would continue to be with him and guide him.  Can  you imagine the thrill--perhaps the blushing of his cheeks--that Moses felt  when the Almighty said, "I am pleased with you"?

I his book, Love Against Hate, Karl Menninger wrote about the role of the  teacher in the life of a child.  The child gives up his undisciplined,  careless ways to please the beloved teacher so that he will not lose the love  of the teacher.  If you teach young children, you probably recognize how  important this is.  If you build a loving relationship with a child, the  child will want to perform well to continue to enjoy this relationship.  More  tangible rewards cannot substitute for the real affection between teacher and  student.  The greatest reward we experience on earth is this knowledge that we are  living in His presence and pleasing Him as we love and obey Him.

Deuteronomy 31.6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified  because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you  nor forsake you."

Dear Father, we are so grateful for the knowledge that we are pleasing You  when we lovingly obey your commands.  We are grateful to live in Your  presence and to have the guidance from Your Word.  May we live with this  assurance and joy today.  Help those who are hurting.  We ask this in the  name of Christ, the One who is with us.  Amen.

1 John 5.14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask  any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he  hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we  desired of him.

Only God can know HOW our prayers WORK but we believe HE answers. Please  write me to add names to the prayer list and to report changes in status.

Let us be thankful and prayerful!

Love
Brad Forgy
