"MY LIST"

During our trip to Mexico we saw some things that give me the opportunity to put things in perspective. On our way back home we came back through San Antonio and stopped at the Alamo. You see, I've never seen the Alamo before. That's the advantage of planning the trip. You get to do things YOU want! But since we've been home I got to thinking about some of the things I've wanted to do during my lifetime (like travel overseas, go to Washington D.C., etc.). Some of the things on "My List" I've been able to accomplish, some I haven't. But I have seen a need to revise "My List". Some of the things I've already done but would like to do again. Others, well, I may never get done. Maybe "My List" will change again in the future, maybe not. What are the things on my list, you ask:

1. To leave the world a bit better off by my having been here.
2. To watch the sunrise and sunset from a beach.
3. To learn my family history and visit places where they lived and died.
4. To visit the Grand Canyon.
5. To love others unconditionally.
6. To earn the affection of children.
7. No matter how far behind I seem to get, always play by the rules.
8. To never lose childlike enthusiasm.
9. To accomplish something that others said was impossible.
10. To give a cup of water to those who are thirsty, food to those who are hungry, give clothes to those who are in need, and visit those in prison and who are sick.
11. To earn the respect of intelligent people.
12. To make something that is still standing when I die.
13. To know something about everything and everything about something.
14. To take a stand on something and not back down under pressure.
15. To meditate and pray daily.
16. To dream big dreams and be willing to pay the price to make them come true.
17. To travel back to Israel.
18. To learn as much history about our nation as I can.
19. To learn how to tie various kinds of knots.
20. Always stay excited about even the possibility of snow.
21. To pass on a collection or hobby to my children.
22. To not always take the interstate highways.
23. To see "Old Faithful" erupt.
24. To learn another language.
25. To go to heaven, take my family with me and as many others as I can!
