Look up!

Psalm 19: 1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. 2 Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. 3 There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. 4 Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens he has pitched a tent for the sun...

I once read that during early church history the Roman government thought that if they destroyed all of the church buildings, crosses and Bibles, they would destroy the Christian faith. They continued their destruction of these and then proudly said to the church leader, '"We have destroyed all of the symbols of your faith--your church buildings, crosses and Bibles--so your faith is gone. Christianity has been destroyed." The church leader replied, "What are you going to do with the sun, the moon and the stars?"--Restoring My Soul: The Pursuit of Spiritual Resilience, p. 28, Bill Flatt, Ed.D.

Dear Father, You have declared Your greatness, power and love to us in so many ways. We are grateful that we can look up and see Your works. Help us to look up when we are discouraged and to know You are in control. Help those who are hurting. We ask this in the name of Christ, the Beloved. Amen.

1 John 5.14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Only God can know HOW our prayers WORK but we believe HE answers. Please write me to add names to the prayer list and to report changes in status. Let us be thankful and prayerful.

Love
Brad Forgy
