God Consciousness

Matthew 26.75 Then Peter remembered the word Jesus had spoken: "Before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times." And he went outside and wept bitterly. 

We note one of the saddest moments in the life of a disciple as we hear the bitter weeping of Peter. He thought he was ready for any challenge but he was not. Jesus knew his heart:

Luke 22.31 "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you as wheat. 

32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

When he turned back to Christ, he strengthened his brothers (including us) with his great words of hope (See his letters.). He possessed a consiousness of God that enabled him to suffer for Christ:

1 Peter 2.19 For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God.

Dear Father, we are conscious of You as our Maker and our God. Help us to maintain our awareness of You each day and to be controlled by our desire to serve You and follow Jesus in all that we do regardless of the consequences.  Help those who are hurting. We ask this in the name of Christ, our Advocate.  Amen.

1 John 5.14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
