As Good as Dead

Hebrews 11.11 By faith Abraham, even though he was past age—and Sarah herself  was barren—was enabled to become a father because he considered him faithful  who had made the promise. 12 And so from this one man, and he as good as  dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless  as the sand on the seashore.

You may have been on a turbulent flight, in the midst of a tornado, feeling a  pain in your chest or hearing your doctor’s diagnosis when you thought you  were "as good as dead".  It was only after both Abraham and Sarah were "as  good as dead" that God performed what He had promised them.

When we stop standing on our own vitality and strength we can begin to rely  on the Source of all power.  The next time you feel weary, ill or despondent  consider Abraham and Sarah.  It was only after they were "as good as dead"  that God used them to accomplish something great.

Dear Father, we are so grateful to know that your power and faithfulness are  perfect even when we are discouraged.  Help us to be faithful, always  confident in Your promises, always hoping in Christ.  Use us to bless others.   Help those who are hurting.  We ask this in the name of Christ, the Seed of  Abraham.  Amen.

1 John 5.14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask  any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  15 And if we know that he  hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we  desired of him.

Only God can know HOW our prayers WORK but we believe HE answers. Please  write me to add names to the prayer list and to report changes in status.

Let us be thankful and prayerful!

Love,
Brad Forgy
