GOING TO THE FATHER

John 14.28 "You heard me say, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’  If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the  Father is greater than I. 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that  when it does happen you will believe. 30 I will not speak with you much  longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me, 31 but  the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my  Father has commanded me.

Jesus looked beyond the cross to the joy of being with the Father (Hebrews  12.1,2). He reassured the disciples that He would be with the Father and  nothing could be better than that. He declared His love for the Father to  the world by obeying His commands. Let us do the same.

1 John 5.3a This is love for God: to obey his commands.

Our dear Father, we know that nothing can be better than being in Your  presence. We are so grateful that Christ has provided the way for us to be  with You today and forever. May we live as loving, obedient children today.  Help those who are hurting. We ask this in the name of Christ, the Beloved.  Amen.

1 John 5.14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask  any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he  hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we  desired of him.
