Giving

Acts 20.34 You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own  needs and the needs of my companions.

35 In everything I did, I showed you  that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words  the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'"

Someone has said, "You can give without loving but you cannot love without  giving."  It is good to recall the words of Paul and Jesus during this season  of giving.

Dear Father, we are so grateful for the blessing of giving--the opportunities  we have to help the poor and the weak.  Help us to be sensitive to the needs  of others and use us to bless them as we enjoy an even greater blessing.   Help those who are hurting.  We ask this in the name of Christ, the Giver.   Amen.

1 John 5.14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask  any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  15 And if we know that he  hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we  desired of him.
