    Fountain of Youth

2 Corinthians 4:16-5:1, 16
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet  inwardly we are being renewed day by day.
17 For our light and momentary  troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.
18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is  seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

1 Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a  building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.

Did you know you could look "two years younger by Christmas"?  I found these  fascinating words on the cover of the latest Avon catalog...and I wondered  who would want to look two years younger.  Most young people want to look  older.  Have you ever known an 18-year-old who wanted to look

16?  I also do  not recall hearing any 90-year-old ladies say they would like to look 88 again.

I suppose this idea of looking a little younger appeals chiefly to us baby  boomers--those of us born between 1945 and 1963--and I have no idea who gave  us this title.  Avon and other companies spend millions of dollars to offer  us a more youthful appearance for a price.  People pursue a more youthful  appearance with nutrition, exercise, drugs, lotions, surgery, etc.

Paul recognized his body as a temporary home--a tent or tabernacle.  He had  found the real fountain of youth--the hope of eternal glory in a house built  by God.  This hope prompts us toward daily renewal.  While the outside of our  "old tents" may become wrinkled, sore and stiff, our hope in Christ can make  us younger each day as we look forward to our heavenly home.

2 Corinthians 5.17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation;  the old has gone, the new has come!

Dear Father, we are so grateful for the hope of glory in Christ.  We are  aware of physical wasting away but we rejoice in the inward renewal we have  in Christ.  Help us to be renewed each day as we look forward to our heavenly  home.  Help those who are hurting.  We ask this in the name of Christ, the  Glorious One.  Amen.

1 John 5.14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask  any thing according to his will, he heareth us:  15 And if we know that he  hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we  desired of him.

Only God can know HOW our prayers WORK but we believe HE answers. Please  write me to add names to the prayer list and to report changes in status.

Let us be thankful and prayerful!

Love
Brad Forgy
