An Empty Cupboard
Habakkuk 3 17 Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, 18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior. 19 The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.
When you think you are having a bad day...or a bad year...or a bad life, read Habakkuk. The prophet yearned for justice as he lived in the midst of evil. His trust in God grew as he grappled with the injustice and evil. He resolved to rejoice regardless of his circumstances. Let us join him in this resolve with the Lord as our strength!
Dear Father, we are so grateful for the joy and strength that we have in Christ regardless of our struggles. Forgive us for our lack of faith as we place ourselves fully in Your hands. Make us overcomers. Help those who are hurting. We ask this in the name of Christ, our Strength. Amen.
1 John 5.14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
Only God can know HOW our prayers WORK but we believe HE answers. Please write me to add names to the prayer list and to report changes in status.
Let us be thankful and prayerful!
